Privacy Policy

Calomi has no account, no analytics, and no advertising. There is nothing to sign up for, and the developer never receives your food entries, photos, weight, or health data.

What you record stays on your iPhone and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud storage.

What Calomi stores

Calomi keeps the things you enter so it can show them back to you:

Food and drink entries — name, calories, protein, carbohydrate, fat, category, and time
Photos you take or choose for an entry
Workouts — type, duration, and estimated calories
Weigh-ins
Your profile — the name you choose to be greeted by, height, date of birth, sex, and calorie target
Your settings, reminders, and exercise schedule

All of it is written to your device. None of it is sent to the developer.

iCloud

If you are signed in to iCloud, Calomi syncs your records across your own devices using Apple's CloudKit private database. This is your personal iCloud storage, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. The developer cannot see or access it.

If you are not signed in to iCloud, Calomi works exactly the same and keeps everything on the device only.

Apple Health

Calomi asks for Apple Health access so your activity and weight stay consistent with the rest of your phone. You choose what to allow, and you can change it at any time in the Health app.

Calomi reads: steps, workouts, body weight, active energy.

Calomi writes: workouts, body weight, and active energy — only what you record in Calomi.

Health data is used on your device to work out calories and activity. It is never sent anywhere by Calomi.

Photos and camera

Photos you attach to an entry are saved inside Calomi on your device. When you photograph a meal, Calomi uses Apple's on-device Vision framework to guess what the food is — the picture is analysed on your iPhone and is not uploaded.

Photos are included in a backup only if you export one yourself.

Food search

This is the only thing Calomi sends over the internet.

When you search for a food or scan a barcode, Calomi sends the words you typed, or the barcode number, to look up nutrition information from:

Nothing else travels with the request. Your name, weight, meal history, photos, and device identifiers are not included, and Calomi does not tell these services who is asking. Their own privacy practices apply to what they log about incoming requests.

Notifications

Meal and weigh-in reminders are scheduled on your device by iOS. No server is involved, and no notification content leaves your iPhone.

Backups

You can export a backup file containing your entries, photos, workouts, weight, and settings. The file goes wherever you choose to save it, and Calomi does not send it anywhere. Keep it somewhere private.

What Calomi does not do

No accounts, no sign-in, no email collection
No analytics or crash-reporting services
No advertising and no advertising identifier
No tracking across apps or websites
No selling or sharing of data — there is none to sell

Deleting your data

Deleting Calomi from your iPhone removes what it stored on the device. Records synced to your iCloud can be removed in iPhone Settings under your name → iCloud → Manage Storage.

Children

Calomi is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect anything from them. It collects nothing from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
